I’ve remixed the RSS feeds along the left side of the site and added a new one. The new one is Renewable Energy World’s Solar Energy News feed, selected out of the several different feeds that they offer.
Feeds can be set up for any category or tag or even search term on a site. For example, a feed can be set up for only posts on this site that mention “solar.”
People get “feeds” lots of different ways. Some feeds are available by email (comes to you on some frequency). You can read them in a feed reader like Google Reader. If you use iGoogle, you can set up a widget on a page that pulls the feed (you can set up your own pages too, and cluster feeds by topic). For this WordPress site, I used the standard RSS widget to add the new feed to the sidebar.
On a lot of websites, you’ll see a logo like the one above – that means that a feed of the info is available. Whenever the info that the feed tracks gets updated, the “feed” is triggered to go out (in most cases, it’s a post that triggers the feed). Click on the logo to get the feed set up for yourself!
