Just for fun, and because we like “set it and forget it” as a general rule, we set this up with something automatic. Twice a week (seems like enough), a post will automatically generate and publish (by itself!). That post is all about Solar News, and it’s actually based on an RSS feed from Google News.
To get to the Google Alert, we did a Google News search and entered a few terms. A few clicks later, and this set up was ready to go. It automatically checks the feed (we set a schedule), generates the post, adds category and tags, and publishes the post.
Since this site is set up so the home page has the latest “posts”, it automatically publishes in the right place. In case you might miss something, we also set up the menu so you can click on News and see the News post there (the date in the title tells you when it’s from). The post is “digest style” so it’s bringing in part of the articles that Google found, and a link to the full article.
